BILL McLAREN
OBE, MBE, CBE
(1923 - 2010)

Bill McLaren, The Voice Of Rugby, passed away at the age of 86 on the morning of January 19th 2010. In 2007 he gave us what became his last ever interview. It is a fascinating account of his life from the early days when he played for his beloved Hawick, his exploits during the Second World War, his illness which nearly killed him and his remarkable 50 year broadcasting career. He also talked about the love of his life, his wife Bette. Through this interview with Stuart Cameron the warmth of the man comes shining through. To everyone whose lives he touched he will never be forgotten - he is, and will always be, a legend!
