12/12 Bonus Point Wins for Melrose

Melrose scored five tries on the road at Scotstoun to defeat Glasgow Hawks 34-17 and retain their unbeaten record in the BT Premiership, with a try bonus scored in all 12 games played so far. That puts the Black & Yellows on 60 points with six games to play. The Borders team are certainly on track for a home play-off when the play-offs come round next year.  Russell Anderson (pictured with Fraser Thomson) scored a hat trick, with Nyle Godsmark and Grant Runciman getting the others. Craig Jackson kicked three conversions and a penalty.  Melrose’s next BT Premiership match is the re-arranged fixture against Ayr on January 6th, but they also have home games in the Booker Border League v Selkirk (December 23rd) and a Waverley Cup game v Gala (December 26th).  No other games involving Borders sides in the top flight took place due to the frosty weather.  Watch Fraser Thomson chatting to Russell Anderson here.  Credit Melrose Rugby TV: Duncan Combe (Video), Fraser Thomson (Audio)
