Melrose scored five tries on the road at Scotstoun to defeat Glasgow Hawks 34-17 and retain their unbeaten record in the BT Premiership, with a try bonus scored in all 12 games played so far. That puts the Black & Yellows on 60 points with six games to play. The Borders team are certainly on track for a home play-off when the play-offs come round next year. Russell Anderson (pictured with Fraser Thomson) scored a hat trick, with Nyle Godsmark and Grant Runciman getting the others. Craig Jackson kicked three conversions and a penalty. Melrose’s next BT Premiership match is the re-arranged fixture against Ayr on January 6th, but they also have home games in the Booker Border League v Selkirk (December 23rd) and a Waverley Cup game v Gala (December 26th). No other games involving Borders sides in the top flight took place due to the frosty weather. Watch Fraser Thomson chatting to Russell Anderson here.
