Jedforest ran riot at home to Gala in National 1 with a 65-6 win over their Border rivals, in a match which doubled as a Border League game, eliminating Gala from that competition in the process. Among the scorers once again for Jedforest was Robbie Shirra-Gibb (pictured) who managed a brace and has scored tries in 9 of the 10 league matches for his club. That win for Jed keeps up the pressure on the league leaders, Edinburgh Accies, who enjoyed a big 59-7 win at Cartha QP. Watch TV report on Jedforest v Gala here. Highlights from game here.
Selkirk overcame their hosts Stewart’s Melville 29-19 in a close game where the lead changed hands several times, but despite scoring 41 points at GHA, Kelso lost 50-41 at Braidholm. They do move up to 8th in the table though.
Hawick are still without a win with a loss at second-placed Currie 32-24 but for the second week running they won the second half, and this time managed a try bonus to put them on 5 points for the season. Their nearest rivals Marr beat Glasgow Hawks 31-15 though to push them four points clear of Hawick with Boroughmuir down to 9th but still 11 points ahead of the Greens.
In Division 2 Peebles continued their winning streak with a 33-29 win at Whitecraigs to go 6th in the table, while St Boswells toppled Newton Stewart in Division 3, moving them up to 4th and within one point of a promotion place.
