Scotland Women’s 7s squad under Scott Wight win Rugby Europe trophy

Scotland’s Women’s 7s squad demolished the opposition at the Rugby 7s Europe tournament in Hungary scoring 367 points and conceding just one try, at the very end of the last match in the tournament against Germany, who they beat 33-5 in the Final.  Head Coach, Melrose’s Scott Wight, has now won back-to-back trophies with his squad, a quarter of them with Borders connections, and this puts Scotland’s Women’s team back at the top table of World Rugby again.

Scotland has a habit in all sports of struggling against the world’s smallest teams, but there was no signs of this as they trounced all before them, including Malta, Romania, Latvia and Finland. Listen to Scott’s reaction here.
